Potassium permanganate is used most in zinc industry including four major units: electrolysis, leaching, refinery and melting.

Sulfuric acid, Aluminum sulfate and Iron sulfate as well as feed imported into dissolution tanks. The product will be neutralized by adding lime, manganese dioxide. The product of neutralization unit will be refined during hot &cold steps to remove cobalt, nickel and cadmium. Lime and permanganate are used in hot refinery, nickel and cadmium by zinc powder and cooper sulfate are used in cold refinery. Refined product moved to electrolysis unit so called zinc sheet product then enters into furnace to melt.
